The Lions are looking to improve from a rough season last year and improve on 5-16 record. Seniors Marcus Sutton, and Riley Barnard and juniors Konner McQuillan and Jaheal Sweet will lead the charge for the Lions when they open their season at home on Friday, December 1 against Bonner Springs.
The Lady Lions look to improve on their winning ways from last after finishing 11-10 and losing to Topeka Seaman in the first round of sub-state. The Lions look to build off of their success from last year after finishing 3rd in both boys and girls 5a powerlifting state. The Lions have a lot of lifters returning from last year with a plenty of experience competing, including seniors Eliott Wilk, Joe Dill, and Mykala Caraccilo and juniors Alyssa Foley, Cayleigh Berry and Clay Bown.
After a average season last year, the Lions are looking to come out make a statement on the mats this year with a bunch of young talent returning from last year, including senior state qualifier Tyler Williams The Lions first meet is the Leavenworth Invitational on Saturday, December 2 at Leavenworth High School.
Coming off a successful season last year the Lions are looking to make a splash in the pool one again this year after posting record breaking times last season during state. The Lions first swim meet is Wednesday, November 29 against Topeka West at Hummer Park.
With a strong core of returning bowlers including seniors Dante Hernandez and Lacey Angello, the Lions And Lady Lions are both looking to make it back to state after both team won regional titles last year. The first meet for the teams is against Mill Valley and Atchison at Crown Lanes on Tuesday, January 16.
